SAVALSTINO is a brand I created under the pseudonym Lori Savalstino.
Many of my works are created with the participation of my partner Gregg Savalstino, a talented and internationally acclaimed sculptor. Art is the common denominator of our existence, it is our shared passion.
I create abstractions on canvas using various techniques and materials, predominantly acrylics and oils, concrete and fabrics. I am not limited by any material; on the contrary, I create works in accordance with my nature, capturing the beauty of the world and the soul in a non-obvious form. My paintings are emotions shown in an unconventional way, because even a positive message is shown in dark colors. It is mostly a raw form and a unique mixture of styles…
Enthusiasts look for a pretext to create a given work in my works, a reason… take a good look, because each painting reveals a bit of this mystery.
The love of creating art is written in my family tradition and genes. This talent was passed down through the male line in my family, but… I don’t have a brother, so the gene responsible for an interest in painting found its way into my female hands, but thanks to my partner, I also smuggle in the male element of art!
I have always been lucky to meet creative people, and my life partner turned out to be one of them, but he did something else: he awakened and strengthened my self-confidence and desire to create a brand, he gave me wings, opened a window, and with careful tenderness pushed me to fly high.
And so a brand was created that is valued not only in Poland, but also in Germany, France, and Spain.
And now… now I am crossing new boundaries.
Artist’s Statement
My works are a collection of emotions, movement, and depth. They convey hope, even those created in black colors. I draw the style and philosophical foundations of my art from the optimism with which I paint and which I want to convey to others. Not every painting makes such an impression at first glance, but my idea is to find it in them. The viewer should feel that there is no darkness from which one cannot escape… and that light will always be stronger than darkness. This foundation of an exclusively optimistic vision came from my personal experiences and faith in the day that changed everything… because I decided to, because I dared to, because I have a wonderful person by my side.
My art is an affirmation of a better tomorrow and a continuation of the motto I live by: in life, you get as much as you dare to take. It is a harbinger of change and a turning point in life. Most buyers treat my paintings as talismans of good luck. And with good reason. I treat my works in the same way, giving them a delicate yet concrete resonance in the form of titles that convey clear encouragement, with an additional feminine touch in the form of female names.
Each painting is created with the intention of bringing good luck, love, rebirth, prosperity, and success. I create them with great tenderness and positive vibrations.
I believe in the beauty of hope and personal growth.
My paintings are spontaneous, with bold brushstrokes, rich texture, intricacy, a complex array of techniques, and variable, though mostly subdued, colors.
